Feb 7, 2023 · Valentine Auction
The two-day Valentine auction from Youhorse.auction started well. The large amount of horses already sold proved that the collection made many a heart beat faster. Among the sellers, also, the pulse rate went up because the buyers had developed a strategy of bidding at the last minute. Today part 2 of the auction will take place.
In any case, the auction made a good start last night for organisers Mario Everse and Alan Waldman. The latter also had success as a seller: bred by him, Lado Waldstar (Luigi d’Eclipse x Carambole) was knocked down for 22,000 euro. The 4-yr-old gelding out of the half-sister to Martin Fuchs’ World Cup winner Chaplin will pursue his career in the USA.
Mario Everse says: “It was very exciting! Buyers are getting wiser about the bidding and wait until the last moment. Fortunately, there had already been an enterprising spirit beforehand and the quality of the collection had made us very confident. And lo and behold, with the right ingredients things will always work out well. We were able to make many buyers happy with a new talent.”
7 horses to buyer from Greece
Diamantina (Diarado x Quilot) turned out the star of the auction this Monday. The 5-yr-old mare went to buyers from Slovakia for 24,000 euro. The 7-yr-old L Mlyn’s Laguna followed with 22,500 euro; this daughter of Cohinoor VDL will leave for Iran. Six horses were sold to Germany. Four will cross over to the USA.
One Greek buyer was very successful in this collection of 31 horses. As many as seven of them will soon depart for his stables in southern Europe, including the 3-yr-old, that went for 17,000 euro, Philippine de Larcotique (Omano BC x Diamant de Semilly), who is, as the name already suggests, a product from the line of Narcotique de Muze.
Tuesday 7 February will stage Part 2
Today, Tuesday 7 February, the second part of the Valentine collection will go under the hammer. “We have a similar collection, with quality horses in free jumping or under saddle. The price/quality ratio has always been good in our auctions, but now we certainly have a few bargains! No doubt, they will be very interesting for people who are looking for something special”, reveals Mario Everse.
